Starting your first aquarium can be scary, there is a lot of important choices to be made, especially ones that can alter the whole course of your aquarium. What size tank, what kind of filtration, what kinds of fish to stock? These are all important questions that can overwhelm new aquarists.

Plant Choices

Aquarium plants are what makes the tank whole, it brings life to the aquarium. The aquatic plant world is vast and confusing. Aquarium plants are not a one-size-fits-all situation, many of these plants each have their own specific care requirements, especially when it comes to placement and compatibility.

Hardscape Choices

Hardscape refers to any solid material in your tank like rocks and wood. I firmly believe that aquascaping is one of the coolest creative outlets, however, there are some types of wood and rocks that pair better together. Some rocks even change your water chemistry!
